raynet tool surface

Tools per access mode

RaynetSearch, RaynetGet and RaynetDescribe are the reading tools and are always available. RaynetCreate, RaynetUpdate and RaynetDelete need at least the read/write mode, which single-record deletion needs too.

RaynetAction covers lock, merge and anonymize; merging and anonymizing need the full mode. RaynetRequest is registered only while the Allow raw requests switch is on, and a write through it needs the full mode.

Read-only runs get only the three reading tools; the writing tools are not registered for them.

Request pipeline

  • At most two requests are in flight in one process, and Raynet allows four concurrent connections per instance.
  • Each request has a 30 second timeout.
  • Only GET requests are retried, and only after a 429 caused by too many concurrent connections, with waits of 1 s and 4 s. A write is never retried, because a repeated create would make a second record.
  • ISO date filters are rewritten to the spelling Raynet accepts. Raynet answers any other date spelling with an error, so the filter is never passed through verbatim.
  • Picklist lookups show the first 200 values of a code list.
  • Lists return 25 records per page by default, and one call accepts at most 1000.
  • The daily quota is 24 000 requests per account and resets at midnight UTC; the assistant is warned below 1000 remaining and stops when the quota is gone.

Dry run

A dry run validates access, path, data and credentials and returns the exact request without sending it, so it needs no confirmation. Deletion, irreversible actions and raw writes still require explicit consent in the tool call, and a failed preview reports the same validation error a real call would raise.
