Work with colleagues in a shared Project
A Project can hold work for several people. Everyone in it opens the same files, and Chetty can work on them for anybody who has access.
You add a colleague in the Project itself; the steps are in Invite a colleague to a Project.
What you share
- Files and folders of the Project, with the changes each person made.
- The way in: everybody in the Project can open it, change it and also delete it.
- Sign-ins kept inside the Project's environment, for example a connection to a shared service.
- Chetty's memory of the Project, when the person who set the Project decides to share it.
What stays private
- Your conversations, unless you invite somebody to a particular conversation. Project membership alone does not share them.
- Your memories, unless a Project memory is shared on purpose.
- Your own connections and accounts, such as your mailbox.
- Your files elsewhere. Only the Project's own folder is shared.
So Project membership shares the work, not the talking about it. You can instead invite a colleague to one conversation, even without Project membership. They can ask Chetty to work in its Project from that conversation, with their own permissions and the owner paying for answers, but do not gain access to the Project outside it.
How to work together
- Agree in the team which Project holds the work, and ask for access to that one.
- Open Projects, click the Project and check People: everybody listed there works in the same files.
- Write a short note about the Project in Overview, so a colleague knows what it is for.
- Do the work itself in the Project: save documents there, or ask Chetty in a conversation that runs in this Project.
- To work together in the same conversation, invite the colleague from its row menu. To send a copy instead, save the result as a file inside the Project, or export the conversation and send it. Read Rename, pin, save or delete a conversation.
Ask Chetty for the Project's current state rather than for a colleague's conversation: "What is in the sales folder and what changed this week?"
If something does not work
- You cannot see the Project. Ask its owner or your administrator to add you.
- You see fewer files than a colleague. Reload the page; the list is read when it opens.
- A colleague cannot find your work. It may live in a conversation they have not been invited to. Invite them or save the result as a file in the Project.
- You are not sure who else is in it. Open People in the Project; the list is complete.
