Add a user and grant the right access
Use Users to create a human account and choose the Projects and permissions it can use. You need actual Elowen administrator access; reading this admin article does not grant it.
Create a human account
- Open Users and choose New user.
- Enter a unique Username and a password of at least eight characters.
- Choose a Preset, or leave the account without one.
- Assign at least one Project in Projects: create a new personal Project or select an existing one.
- Select Create.
Grant only required access
Later human accounts, including administrators, use the selected preset or start without model, tool and grant-gated plugin access. The first administrator is a special bootstrap case. Open the account and review Permissions: select allowed models, grant only needed user-grantable plugins, and enable required tools. All models includes models added later. Plugin grants do not bypass Project, filesystem or tool-permission checks. An Administrator can manage users, configuration and grants; a Member can access only assigned Projects. Do not grant an administrator role just to provide a model or tool.
Verify access
Confirm the account appears in Users, its intended Project is assigned, and model, plugin and tool access match the task. A member needs at least one active Project. If the installation does not offer a model, a user grant cannot make it available; configure a provider first. See Account presets and Users & Access.
Common failures
An occupied username must be changed. The password must have at least eight characters and the account needs an active Project. If a tool is unavailable because its plugin is not granted, grant that plugin first. Chat-platform administrator status does not grant instance administration.
