Configure your account

Your account settings personalize your experience without changing other people's preferences or the instance-wide configuration. This guide covers the profile and everyday preferences; for passwords and sign-in protection, see Secure your access.

Open account settings

  1. Sign in to the web app.
  2. Open Account from the sidebar.
  3. Choose a section from the account navigation. The address can include a section selection, but you can use the page without editing it.

If a section does not load, use the page's retry action when available. Installed plugins may contribute personal settings; those are available only while the relevant plugin is enabled and granted to your account.

Update your profile

In the Account section, edit your name or email; these fields save automatically. To change your picture, choose Upload avatar and select a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or GIF image. Your avatar is visible to all signed-in accounts on this instance.

You can link supported platform identities in the same profile area. Enter the platform's user identifier, not a display name; each identity can belong to only one Elowen account. Teams may resolve the identity from your verified platform email. These values save automatically.

Choose personal preferences

Review the sections for preferences you want to change. Personal model settings affect your Web chat and elowen chat; instance-wide model providers remain under Settings, managed by an administrator. Language, interface scale, and visual effects can vary by browser or device. Other settings, such as notifications, voice, memory, and personality, apply to your account as described on Account preferences.

Do not treat an account preference as an access grant. It cannot give you permissions that your account or an administrator has not granted.

Save and check

Most profile and preference changes save automatically. Stay on the section until its save status indicates success. If saving fails, use the displayed retry action or reload the section and check the current value before trying again. Password changes use a separate explicit save action, and browser notifications also require browser permission.

Check the edited value after saving, then open another section and return to confirm it persisted. If a setting is missing, it may depend on an enabled plugin, account access, or instance configuration rather than a failed save.
