Plan a recurring summary
A recurring schedule asks Elowen to do the same kind of work at chosen times, such as preparing a morning overview. This guide covers a personal schedule. It requires the cronjob plugin to be enabled for your account; if its scheduling tools are not available, ask your administrator for access. Scheduled work uses your account's permissions, so the summary can only use information and tools available to you.
Before you begin
Decide what the summary should contain and how often it will still be useful. Use a specific prompt, for example: “Summarize yesterday’s completed work and list today’s calendar events.” Avoid a very short interval for work that changes slowly: every run may use model resources. A schedule does not guarantee that information exists or that a service it depends on is available.
Choose a personal schedule for work that belongs to you. Instance-wide schedules are a separate choice with different permissions and delivery. Read Scheduling for scope, timing, time zones, missed runs, and other schedule types.
Create the schedule
- In a conversation where scheduling tools are available, ask Elowen to create a recurring personal summary. State the subject, the schedule, and the time zone if the time is clock-based.
- Choose a cadence such as
daily 07:30,weekly sun 20:00, orevery 2h. For a personal job, use the supported interval, daily, or weekly form; advanced five-field cron schedules require administrator authority. - Give the prompt enough context to produce a useful result. A recurring job also needs a conversation under which it is filed. Elowen can select an eligible conversation for you; this filing choice does not change permissions, context, or where the result is delivered.
- Review the proposed name, timing, and destination, then confirm creation. A new recurring job waits for its next scheduled time; it does not run immediately when saved.
Check the result
The reply confirms where results will appear. A personal schedule usually reports in a separate conversation named after the job; one created in a direct 1:1 platform chat can report there instead. Shared rooms do not receive the reply. Check that conversation after the first scheduled time and refine the prompt if the summary is too broad or empty.
If you cannot find the job, ask Elowen to list schedules you can access. Open the Automation page and pause the specific job with Pause to keep it without deleting it. To remove one permanently, identify it first; deletion is different from pausing. For more about managing schedules, see Scheduling.
