Skill learning and memory maintenance

Skills are reusable procedures; Memory stores durable facts, preferences and decisions. Automatic learning is off by default and requires the Skills plugin and permission to create skills.

Enable learning

  1. Open Account → Memory.
  2. Turn on Learn skills from completed work.
  3. Complete successful personal work in the web or CLI; scheduled, internal, steered and platform-channel turns are not reviewed.
  4. Find the new personal skill in the Skills manager; it is not shared with other accounts.

The review looks for reusable procedures, not transcripts. It has no tools; model usage is billed to you. It may be skipped if the exact request cannot be continued safely, capacity is unavailable, or an OAuth account's weekly quota is at least 90% or unknown. A skipped review stays pending.

Review and edit learned skills

A learned skill belongs to you, with no approval step. Edit or delete it in Skills, or turn off Show to agent automatically to load it only on request. Any edit removes its agent-written status. Reviews may improve only personal skills the agent wrote and you have not edited; bundled and shared skills are never changed.

To stop future learning, turn off the switch in Account → Memory; saved skills remain. See Skills for the manager.

Automatic memory maintenance

Memory maintenance is separate from skill learning. It can change your personal memories, but never a shared Project pool.

  1. Open Account → Memory and turn on Automatic memory maintenance.
  2. Choose Maintenance model. The default uses the model of the conversation that starts a pass.
  3. Select Run now to start immediately; scheduled passes wait for enough time and finished exchanges in other conversations.
  4. Open Past maintenance passes to review runs and their before/after changes. Use Stop on a running pass.

Passes may merge or rewrite memories, or move them to trash; they never permanently delete them. See Memory & Embeddings.

Keep facts in Memory

Save lasting facts in Memory; save repeatable procedures as skills. See Memory & Embeddings.
