What Elowen remembers
Memory can keep useful facts across conversations, such as your preferences, decisions, or project details. It is not a transcript, and recall is not guaranteed: Elowen searches for relevant memories, and results depend on your settings and available search setup. Personal memory belongs to your account. A configured shared Project pool is available only to eligible members working in that Project.
Distinguish facts from procedures
- Save lasting facts and decisions as memories; use a skill for instructions you want Elowen to reuse as a procedure.
- Open the Memory workspace at
/memoryto search and inspect saved entries. You can also use supported memory tools in an authorized Elowen session. - Check the category and Project scope before relying on a result. A Project-bound category is recalled only in that Project; uncategorized memories are not recalled.
Check and correct memory
- When a fact changes, update the memory rather than adding a contradictory version. Merge duplicates when appropriate. Deleted entries go to trash and can be restored; permanent removal cannot be undone.
- Verify important details against current files, settings, or other sources before acting on them. Memory may be incomplete or out of date.
Control what is saved
- Under Account → Memory, review automatic memory search and Auto-save. Auto-save is off by default; when enabled, a background pass may add, revise, merge, or delete memories.
- Do not save passwords, API keys, tokens, or other secrets. Memory is not an access-control system. For retention, shared Project memory, and the available controls, see Memory & Embeddings.
