Translate a text or a document
An e-mail from abroad, a contract for a foreign partner or your own text for a customer. Chetty translates it into the language you need.
Paste the text or attach the document
- Open Chat and click New chat.
- Paste the text into the message field (Ctrl+V, or ⌘+V on a Mac), or attach a file with Attach a file.
- Write the language and what the text is for: "Translate into German, a formal letter to an office."
- Select Send.
Say who the translation is for
The same text can sound formal or casual. Say which one you need: "formal, for an office" or "casual, for a colleague". Say also whether names, addresses and numbers must stay exactly as in the original.
A long document is better sent one chapter at a time, so the answer is not cut short.
Check the translation
- Ask for a back translation: "Translate the English version back into Czech so I can compare."
- Compare the names, amounts and dates with the original.
- When a sentence sounds too long, ask for a shorter one.
If it does not work
- Part of the text is not translated. Write again: "Translate the whole text, including the heading."
- The answer stops in the middle. Send the document in two or three parts.
- Numbers or names changed. Check them and write: "Keep every number and name exactly as in the original."
