Pull data from a document into a table
Invoices, lists, orders, a long report with numbers. Say which columns you need and Chetty puts the data from the document into a table.
Attach the document
- Open Chat and click New chat.
- Select Attach a file beside the message field and choose the document.
- Wait until the upload finishes.
Describe the table
- Write the columns you want, for example: "List every invoice from this document in a table. Columns: invoice number, date, supplier, amount."
- Add the rule for accuracy: "Use only what the document says. Leave empty cells empty."
- Select Send.
Chetty answers with a table in the conversation. Read it first, then take the data out.
Copy the table into Excel
- Select the table with the mouse. On a phone, press and hold it.
- Copy it (Ctrl+C, or ⌘+C on a Mac).
- In Excel click the first cell and paste.
- Count the rows and compare them with the document.
If it does not work
- Rows are missing. Ask: "How many items does the document contain? Add the ones that are missing."
- The table has data that is not in the document. Write: "Use only what the document says and leave empty cells empty."
- The answer stops in the middle. Ask for the table in parts, for example "the first twenty rows".
