Ask Chetty to work with your email
You can also let Chetty do the reading and writing. Ask in a normal conversation and it works with the mailboxes connected to your account, on your computer and on your phone.
Connect your mailbox before asking for mail help. Chetty uses the mailboxes connected to your account, not the mailbox currently selected on the Email page. If you have more than one, name the address in your request or explicitly ask for all of them.
Find and read a message
Ask in your own words: "Find the invoice from Novák last week", or "Show me unread mail from the building office". Chetty searches one mailbox or all of them, in a folder or under a label, and can narrow the list to unread, starred or messages with an attachment. It reads the message as plain text, together with its header and the names of attachments.
Reading in a conversation never marks mail as read in your mailbox. Only opening it on the Email page does.
Prepare and send
Ask for a new message, a reply, a reply to all, or a forward. Chetty writes the text and then asks before anything leaves:
- Send — the email is sent now.
- Save draft — it waits in Drafts of the mailbox for you to finish it.
- Cancel — nothing is sent and nothing is saved.
Before sending you always see the email as it will be sent: the sender, all recipients including copies, the subject, the attachments with their size and the complete text. An email never leaves without your confirmation.
If Chetty cannot ask you for confirmation, for example while a task runs in the background, it saves a draft and raises an alert instead of sending.
Attachments
Chetty can read a text attachment, and it can save any attachment into the current Project. Saving needs a destination and never overwrites an existing file. For an outgoing email, name the files in the Project; the confirmation shows them with their size.
What Chetty needs
- A connected mailbox. If the page shows No email account, follow Connect your mailbox.
- Access at least Drafts for writing, and Sending for Chetty to offer sending. With Read only Chetty cannot compose at all.
