What visitors can send and see

Understand what a visitor may attach, what an answer may offer them and how they stop an answer.

Attach an image

Visitors can attach one image to a message with the Attach image control.

The image must be a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP file of at most 10 MB. The server checks the file's content, not only its name, so a renamed document is refused.

Images and files in answers

An answer can show up to four images and up to four files:

  • A shared image appears under the message and opens in a viewer on the page.
  • A shared file appears under the message with a download link.
  • Shared files may be up to 25 MB.

Answer offers

An answer can carry a short set of choices, one next step, links or cards. A choice sends a reply to the chatbot as the visitor's next message.

  • Links and cards can open only pages within the chatbot's allowed domains.
  • A card can carry one button that sends a reply or opens such a page.
  • One answer holds at most six choices, three links and four cards.
  • A second offer in the same turn replaces the first.

Stopping an answer

The visitor presses the widget's stop control to stop the answer and its pending page actions.

  • While Stopping… is shown, wait for the turn to finish before sending another message.
  • Closing the widget or the tab does not stop the answer.
  • If the connection is lost, the visitor can use Reconnect; text already received stays visible.
  • Administrators see Stopping and Stopped in Conversations.
