Customize the chatbot widget

Make the widget look like it belongs on the customer's site, and choose what it says before a visitor writes.

Open the editor

  1. Open Chatbots and select the chatbot.
  2. In the Appearance group, click Appearance.
  3. The Chatbot appearance window opens with the panel preview beside the settings.

The preview follows the draft, so you see each change before it is saved.

Start from a template

  1. Pick a named template from the Templates list. Each one shows colour swatches.
  2. Confirm the replacement when asked.

A template replaces every appearance setting, including your manual changes, and the appearance then follows that template. The chatbot's name stays unchanged. Cancelling keeps the current template and your overrides.

Edit the panel

Use these groups to change the widget:

  • Send button, Launcher, Header and names, Typography and details, Effects and Sound hold the visual settings.
  • Panel title, Greeting and Quick buttons hold the text visitors read first. A quick button sends its text as the visitor's message when clicked.
  • Mode switches the panel between light and dark, and Position on the page places the launcher in a corner.

Every field you change is marked Customized and can be reset on its own with Reset … to template. Resetting one field does not touch the rest.

Invite the visitor

The Launcher group also offers attention cues:

  • A presence dot with its own colour. It is an ornament and says nothing about whether anyone is available.
  • An invitation text that appears after a delay of 2 to 60 seconds.
  • A bounce or wiggle nudge with its own delay of 3 to 120 seconds.
  • A pulsing ring and an unread badge.

Saving and collapsed groups

Settings save automatically. An error stays visible with a retry option, so a failed save is never silent.

Editable groups start collapsed on the first visit and remember whether you opened or closed them in this browser, separately for each chatbot and settings area. Read-only facts and usage stay visible.
