Have Chetty summarize an email
A long thread or a message forwarded by a colleague can be read in a minute. Chetty reads the mail and tells you what it says, so you know what to do without reading every line.
Before you start
- You need a connected mailbox and Access at least Read only. Reading mail asks for nothing more.
- The message must sit in a mailbox connected to your account. When you see No email account, follow Connect your mailbox.
Start from the message
- Open Email and click the message you want to understand.
- Choose Reply with agent. A conversation opens and the mail waits in it as an Email reference.
- Rewrite the request in the message box: "Sum up this email in five points."
- Send the request and read the answer.
You can also ask straight in a conversation: "Sum up the mail from Novák this week".
Ask for what you need
- Length — "in three sentences", "as five bullet points", "in one paragraph".
- Angle — "what they want from me", "what the deadline is", "which attachments matter".
- Form — "give me a table of tasks and dates", "list only what I have to do".
Check the summary
Chetty can overlook a detail or misread a name. Compare the summary with the original, most of all names, amounts, dates and attachments. When the answer matters, open the message in Email yourself.
If it does not work
- No email account — nothing is connected yet. Follow Connect your mailbox.
- A wrong mailbox in the answer. Chetty searched all of them. Ask again and name the account or the folder.
- A vague answer, or a missing part. Ask for the missing part directly: "What does the second paragraph ask for?"
- A wrong sender, date or amount. Send the request again and ask Chetty to check it against the mail in the mailbox.
