WhatsApp tools

See what the paired WhatsApp account can do: browse groups, send messages and change group members.

Browse groups

  • WhatsappGroupList returns the group JIDs that the other group tools take as input.
  • WhatsappGroupInfo shows a group's participants and administrators.

Send a message

WhatsappSend sends plain text to any phone number, user JID or group JID the account can reach, not only to the chat the conversation runs in.

Two things to know before using it:

  • It returns a short confirmation with the resolved JID, not a message ID.
  • A message sent this way cannot be recalled, so check the recipient first.

Manage a group

  • WhatsappGroupCreate creates a group. It needs at least one valid member, and numbers not registered with WhatsApp may be silently left out.
  • WhatsappGroupAdd adds members.
  • WhatsappGroupRemove removes a member, and WhatsApp announces the removal to the group.

The paired account must be a group administrator to add or remove members. Both tools return WhatsApp's raw per-participant result, where a non-zero status means WhatsApp refused that person.

Limits

  • There is no raw API tool; the six structured tools above are the whole surface.
  • Long replies are split into messages of up to 4,000 characters.
  • The bot ignores messages from newsletters and broadcast lists.
  • While the account is not paired, every tool returns an error instead of acting.
