Connect your Teams or Discord account
Chetty has to know which chat messages are yours. Connect the account once and you get the same files and conversations as in the browser.
Before you start
- Your organisation must already be connected to that chat app. Only connected ones are offered.
- Have the identifier of your chat account ready. It is not your display name, which can change or repeat; it is the number or address the app uses for you.
- One chat account belongs to one Chetty account. Two people cannot claim the same one.
Connect the account
- Open Account and stay in the Account part.
- Find Linked accounts and click Manage. A panel opens with one row per connected chat app.
- Type your identifier for the app you use. It saves as you type, and the app then appears as a small mark on the Linked accounts row.
- Close the panel.
Messages from that chat account now reach Chetty as you, with your files and your access.
A chat account is not a second password, so keep it safe as well: whoever controls it can write to Chetty as you.
What to fill in
- Discord: your numeric user ID. Right-click your profile in Discord and choose Copy User ID.
- Microsoft Teams: your Teams identity. It is usually filled in automatically, so edit it only when Chetty does not recognise you.
- Telegram: your numeric user ID. Send
/startto the account@userinfobotand it answers with the number. - WhatsApp: your phone number, digits only, such as 420111222333. No plus sign, spaces or dashes.
When you are not sure, ask your administrator which identifier your chat app uses.
Disconnect the account
- Open Account and the Account part, then click Manage on Linked accounts.
- Click Disconnect on the row you no longer use. The field empties at once and nothing asks you to confirm.
From then on, messages from that chat account are treated as written by somebody Chetty does not know, without your files and access.
If your chat app is missing
Only apps your organisation has connected appear in the list. When the one you want is not there, ask your administrator to connect it; you cannot do it yourself.
