Answer Chetty's question in Discord

Sometimes Chetty needs a decision before it can go on. It may ask which of two dates is meant, which document to use, or who the letter goes to. It asks in the channel and offers the answers as buttons, so you do not have to write anything.

How a question appears

  • A question with up to five answers arrives as one message with buttons. Click the answer you want.
  • A question that allows more than one answer, or a longer list, arrives as a menu. Pick one or more entries and send them.
  • Several questions arrive one at a time in the same message, with a counter such as Question 2/3. Back returns to the previous question and keeps the answer there. Other lets you type your own answer as your next message in the channel. Everything is sent once the last question is answered.
  • The message then reads ✅ Answered, or ⏱ Question expired when nobody answered in time.

Who may answer

Anyone in the channel or thread whom the bot is allowed to answer can click, not only the person whose message started it. You all share the same message, so whoever answers first moves it on for the room. Chetty receives the first complete set of answers.

Someone the bot may not take answers from gets a private notice and the question stays open for everyone else.

If it does not work

  • Answering is refused. Chetty answers 🔒 You cannot answer this question here. Your Discord account is not allowed in this channel. Ask your administrator to include you.
  • The buttons do nothing. The question expired or someone already answered it. Write to Chetty in an ordinary message instead.
