Send a picture, a file or a voice message in Discord
A scan or a photo is often faster to send than to describe. Attach it in a channel where Chetty answers and ask your question in the same message.
Each channel has its own conversation
Every channel and thread keeps its own conversation with Chetty. What you discussed in one channel is not part of another. If a channel's conversation has gone in the wrong direction, send /new. Chetty confirms with 🆕 Fresh conversation started in this channel.
Pictures and files
- Open the channel or thread where you normally write to Chetty.
- Write your request, for example "Read the attached invoice and tell me the due date", and attach the picture or the file to the same message.
- Send it and wait. Chetty downloads the attachment first and then answers in the channel.
The usual limits are four pictures per message, each up to 5 MB. Files are accepted up to 25 MB, usually five at once. Your administrator can set other values. An attachment above the limit is only mentioned in the conversation as [Attachment: name (type)]. Chetty knows it exists but cannot read it.
Voice messages
When your administrator turns voice on for you, Chetty also understands what you say.
- A voice message is transcribed and answered in text, with a spoken reply added below it.
- An audio file you attach is transcribed as well. The answer stays in text.
- The transcript appears as
[🎙️ Voice message: "…"], so you can check what Chetty heard.
If it does not work
- The answer ignores the file. The conversation holds only a line like
[Attachment: price-list.pdf (pdf)]. The file was too large or in a type Chetty cannot read. Send a smaller version, or split a long scan into several pictures. - No answer arrives at all. The bot may not be allowed in this channel. Ask your administrator.
- A voice message gets no spoken reply. Voice is probably not turned on for you. The text answer always arrives; ask your administrator about voice.
