Connect a subscription account

Sign Chetty in to a subscription you already pay for, so its allowance answers conversations instead of a per-token bill.

Sign in with the provider

The Linked accounts group supports ChatGPT / Codex, Claude, GitHub Copilot, Kimi, xAI (Grok), Meta (Muse) and OpenRouter.

  1. Open Settings → <assistant name> AI.
  2. Under Linked accounts, choose Add account and pick the service. On an account that is not signed in yet, select Connect instead.
  3. Finish the provider's browser or device sign-in. The entry shows its state and, when the provider reports one, its usage bars.

Chetty stores these credentials itself. They are never entered in the API-key form and never sent to the browser.

Note: Some sign-ins show a code to enter on the provider's page. Follow the prompt in the dialog.

Kimi uses the international kimi.ai service. Approve the device code at www.kimi.ai/code/authorize_device. Its usage bars show the consumed share of the 5-hour and monthly allowances.

If you previously connected a kimi.com account, open the account's menu in the provider's Settings and choose Sign in again with a kimi.ai account. The old credential is not transferable: usage bars disappear and chat reports an authorization error until you reconnect.

For Kimi, Settings → Connection → API format offers Auto, Chat Completions and Responses. Auto probes Responses in the background and uses Chat Completions until detection completes or if Responses is unsupported. To use Code mode, select Responses, then enable Code mode under Advanced. Switching formats keeps the same sign-in and usage bars.

Choose its models

Use Manage beside Models in the provider's Settings to choose which catalog entries Chetty offers.

  • The chosen models appear as small icons under the provider's name, each named on hover.
  • An empty selection means the whole catalog.
  • Disconnecting removes the usable credential; the model selection is kept if you reconnect.

OpenRouter bills per token to your own OpenRouter account and has a very large catalog, so choose what to offer. A connected account lists only the chat models your key may use, with the context limits and prices reported for that key.

Chetty refreshes that list in the background right after you connect or disconnect, and then every few hours.

When sign-in goes wrong

  • If the final redirect of a browser sign-in cannot reach Chetty, for example when Chetty runs on another machine, copy the address from the browser's address bar and paste it into the field.
  • If a sign-in expires, reconnect the account.
  • If connecting refuses with a conflicting provider ID, remove or rename the API-key provider that uses that ID, then connect again.
  • Connected only means a sign-in is stored. Select the Test connection icon beside the provider's name to prove it still works; on a subscription the test counts against its quota.
