Choose where a conversation runs
Send work to your own computer or to a Project on the server, and be sure which folder the agent reads and edits.
The default: this computer
A computer paired with the terminal app is a Project of its own. A new conversation created by a paired CLI always runs on that computer, in the folder where you started elowen, and loads that folder's instructions.
Switch the target
/projectopens a list of your Projects and switches the conversation to the one you pick./project <slug or id>switches directly. It matches the Project's slug first, then its numeric id.
The picker shows your computers with their connection state and folder, and the status line follows the selected target.
Managed Projects run in their own container, so /project is the way to move a terminal conversation into one.
Move the folder
/cd [path] moves the directory the terminal app works in: ! commands, @ paths and the folder a new conversation on your own computer runs in. With no argument it reports the current folder.
Note:
/cddoes not change the conversation's target and does not grant access to a Project.
Starting the terminal app from another folder instead starts or resumes the conversation bound to that folder, so check the selected target before you send work.
When the computer is offline
- The background connection is down: starting a new conversation fails with a message telling you to start it. The conversation is never opened on the server instead.
- The folder no longer exists on the computer: Chetty refuses the turn instead of working somewhere else.
- You resume an older conversation: it keeps its own target, so a conversation on a server Project stays there until you change it.
