Send a voice note in a chat

Instead of typing, You can record a voice note in Discord, Telegram or WhatsApp. Chetty writes down what You said and answers with text.

Before you start

  • Your administrator must switch voice on for Your organisation.
  • Your account needs permission to use voice, and free room under Your spend limit. A voice note is charged by its length, like a call.

Send a voice note

  1. Open the direct chat with Chetty, or a group where it is present.
  2. Record a voice note with the recorder of the app, or attach an audio file.
  3. Send it and wait. Chetty writes the words down, then answers.

Keep the note short. A clip longer than 25 MB is refused. WhatsApp accepts one audio attachment per message.

What you get back

App The answer
Telegram Text, then a voice note.
WhatsApp Text, then a voice note.
Discord, recorded as a voice message Text, then a voice note.
Discord, an ordinary audio file Text only.

When the note is not written down

If Chetty cannot turn the recording into words, it keeps the audio as an attachment. It answers in text where it can.

If Chetty cannot record its own answer, the text answer still arrives.

Try it

Send a short voice note in a direct chat. You get a text answer and, in Telegram, WhatsApp and Discord voice messages, a voice note as well.

If it does not work

  • Chetty says Your account may not use voice. Ask Your administrator to switch voice on for Your account.
  • The note stays an attachment without words. The clip is too long or the voice service refused it. Try a shorter one.
  • No answer at all. Chetty is not connected for You in that app. Read When Chetty does not reply.
