When Chetty in a chat does not reply
Most silent chats have one of a few causes. Some You can check Yourself, the rest needs Your administrator.
Check these first
- The right place. In Teams and Telegram, a chat or a group with Chetty in it. On Discord only a server channel or a thread, never a direct message.
- Your linked account. If nobody linked Your identity in that app to Your Chetty account, Chetty stays silent. Ask Your administrator.
- A mention. Some groups pass on only a message that mentions Chetty. Add the mention, or reply to one of its messages.
- A recent change. After a settings change Chetty restarts. Wait a minute and write again.
The message never reaches Chetty
- Teams, a team channel. Teams passes on only messages that mention Chetty. Ask Your administrator whether Chetty may read every message in that channel.
- Telegram, a group. Ask Your administrator whether Chetty may read all messages in the group.
- Discord, a direct message. Direct messages are not supported. Write in a server channel or a thread.
- WhatsApp, a group. Ask Your administrator whether that group is allowed.
The answer never arrives
A reply usually comes back in the same chat, so look there first.
Results of scheduled tasks and alerts need a destination set for that app. Without one they are not sent, and that setting belongs to Your administrator.
If Chetty was answering and restarted in the middle, it may finish in the same chat. A scheduled task and a message with a picture do not continue.
Small differences
- Discord: any member may answer Chetty's question, so it can wait for a colleague.
- Telegram: a command menu expires after a few minutes. Write the command again.
- Teams: You can receive a file from Chetty only in a personal chat.
- WhatsApp: a question waits for the person asked. Nobody else can answer it for them.
